Terms of Use

Effective Date: 04.08.2025

Welcome to VeriMe, an age verification service provided by VeriMe LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of VeriMe through our website, APIs, or integrated platforms. By using VeriMe, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree, you must not use our services.

By accessing or using VeriMe, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and VeriMe Ltd.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the service.

1. Overview of Service

VeriMe enables businesses to verify the age of users in real time using their mobile phone number. It is designed for organisations offering age-restricted content, products, or services.

We provide:

  • Real-time mobile number-based age verification
  • Seamless integration with websites, apps, or platforms
  • Compliance support with age-related access regulations (e.g., UK Online Safety Act, eIDAS, etc.)

VeriMe does not provide identity verification or user authentication beyond age-related checks.

2. Eligibility

To use VeriMe:

  • Businesses must be legally registered entities or authorised representatives.
  • End users must be individuals seeking to access an age-restricted product or service.

You must not use VeriMe for any purpose other than lawful age verification by local and international regulations.

3. Account Registration (for Businesses)

Business users must register to use our API or dashboard. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate company and contact information
  • Use the service only for approved business purposes
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your API credentials and account access

You are responsible for all actions taken through your VeriMe account.

4. Data Collection & Privacy

VeriMe processes data differently depending on the user type:

4.1 For End Users:
  • We receive your mobile number, confirm your mobile network, and query the relevant carrier to obtain anonymised age confirmation (e.g., “18+”, “21+”).
  • We do not store your name, address, ID documents, or any personal identifiers.
  • We do not sell or share user data with third parties.
4.2 For Business Clients:
  • We collect your business contact details, API usage data, and logs for compliance and billing purposes.

All data is processed in compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.

5.Use of Service

You agree not to:

  • Use VeriMe to collect, store, or misuse personal data
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or modify the verification mechanism
  • Use the system to track users or build behavioural profiles
  • Use the verification for any unlawful or discriminatory purpose

We reserve the right to audit your use for compliance and to suspend or terminate services in case of abuse or misuse.

6. Accuracy & Limitations

VeriMe relies on mobile network operators and metadata-based validation. While we strive for accuracy, the service is probabilistic, not deterministic.

  • We do not guarantee 100% accuracy
  • The final decision to allow or deny access rests with the client platform, not VeriMe
  • The service is not intended to be a substitute for identity verification or KYC procedures
7. Availability & Changes

VeriMe is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee continuous uptime or compatibility with all networks or regions. We may modify or suspend the service for maintenance, improvements, or legal compliance.

You will be notified of significant changes affecting functionality or API behaviour.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, APIs, processes, and trademarks related to VeriMe are the property of [Your Company Name] or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written consent.

9. Fees & Billing (for Businesses)

VeriMe may charge per verification, per API call, or under a monthly usage agreement, depending on your selected plan.

You agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees by your agreement
  • Settle invoices by the due date (typically 14 or 30 days)
  • Raise billing disputes within 14 days of invoice issue

Unpaid accounts may be suspended or referred for collection.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You violate these Terms or applicable law
  • We detect misuse or fraud
  • You fail to pay fees or breach your service agreement

Termination does not waive any amounts owed.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months before the incident

We are not responsible for loss of business, data, or reputation due to the use or failure of VeriMe.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
